A
NIGHT OF IRON
The Pumping Iron
25th Anniversary Release Party- Nov. 12th,
2002
On November 12th of last year I was privileged, courtesy of FLEX
magazine, to attend the screening and party celebrating the rerelease
of George Butler's 1977 bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron.
I'm not going to get
into too much detail concerning the event here because I already
dove deep into my emotional well in trying to describe to all of
you just how exciting it was for me, the typical bodybuilding fan,
to be in attendance that night. I'll just restate that it was a
magical night for not only me but for most of the other attendees,
including Lou Ferrigno, franco Columbu, Mike Katz, Ed Corney, Bill
Grant, George Butler, Ronnie Coleman, Gunter Schlierkamp, Jim Lorimer,
Triple H, Bev Francis and Steve Weinberger, Wayne DeMillia, and,
of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
If you haven't already
done so please do yourself a favor and pick up the February issue
of FLEX to read the article and see some great photos from the evening
by photographer Brian Moss. It happens to be a great issue regardless
of this piece a worthy investment of six bucks.
The following pictures
were taken by the somewhat less professional, but not too shabby,
photographer Terry-Ann Perine my mother. These are just to
get you started. I'll add more soon.
Enjoy!
