Although he began competing before many of the other guys on this site were born he was the first bodybuilder to bring a level of mass to the stage that would not look dated today. Most amazingly, his competitive career spanned four decades! He served as inspiration, and later mentor, to a bodybuilder named Arnold Schwarzenegger."
